Brent J. Smolik, Chief Executive Officer and Director

Brent J. Smolik was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Noble Midstream Partners in August 2019. Mr. Smolik is currently a director of NBLX and President and Chief Operating Officer of Noble Energy, Inc., positions he has held since November 2018. Before joining Noble Energy in 2018, Mr. Smolik served as president, chief executive officer and chairman of the board of EP Energy Corporation and EP Energy LLC from 2012 to 2017. He previously served as executive vice president of El Paso Corporation and president of the El Paso Exploration & Production Company. From 2004 to 2006, Mr. Smolik served as president of ConocoPhillips Canada and Burlington Resources Canada. From 1990 to 2004, he served in a variety of engineering and asset management positions of increasing responsibility for Burlington Resources Inc., including chief engineer. He began his career with ARCO Oil and Gas in 1984. Mr. Smolik holds a bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University.


Tom Christensen, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Accounting Officer

Tom was appointed Chief Financial Officer in September 2019 after serving as interim Chief Financial Officer since July 2019. He has also held the position of Chief Accounting Officer of Noble Midstream since August 2016. Tom previously served as Corporate Finance Manager in Noble Energy’s Treasury group and joined Noble Energy upon its acquisition of Rosetta Resources in July 2015. While at Rosetta, Tom served in positions of increasing responsibility, including most recently serving as its Assistant Controller overseeing SEC reporting, corporate accounting, income taxes and technical accounting matters. Tom started his career as an auditor in PricewaterhouseCoopers’s energy practice in Houston. He is also a certified public accountant.


Aaron Carlson, General Counsel and Secretary

Aaron was appointed General Counsel and Secretary of the General Partner in June 2019. He joined Noble Energy in April 2003 after spending seven years in private practice. Aaron served in positions of increasing responsibility within Noble Energy’s legal department, including Vice President, Deputy General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, before assuming the role of Vice President of Land, Marketing and Production Reporting in May 2018. He simultaneously serves in the position of Vice President of Land for Noble Energy.
